The short version
There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies on this site, and nothing about you is ever sold or shared for advertising. You don’t need an account. The only things saved about you are things you choose to send, like a scoreboard name, a calendar suggestion or a message, plus the ordinary security records every website keeps.
Who runs this site
This site is run by FluffyTheWalrus (Brother Walrus Studios). In this policy, “we” and “Fluffy” mean the same person. You can reach him through the contact form or at [email protected].
What other people can see
Scoreboard names and scores are public. So are calendar suggestions once Fluffy approves them (the name you typed, the event, date, time, place and note) and treasure logbook entries (your nickname and message).
Please never put a real full name, home address, school or phone number in anything you post. Fluffy won’t approve calendar posts that include them.
Cookies
The site itself gives visitors no cookies. Its only cookie is the sign-in for Fluffy’s own control panel. Cloudflare, which protects the site, may set a small security cookie to tell people apart from bots.
Saved in your own browser
Games remember things like your progress, best times, streaks and the last name you typed for a scoreboard. That’s saved in your browser’s own storage on your device, not sent to us. Clearing your browser’s site data wipes it.
If you suggest a calendar event, your browser also keeps a random code and a secret key so the page knows which suggestions are yours and you can manage them.
Scoreboards
When you post a score, we keep the name you typed, your score or time, and when you posted it. To stop cheating and let Fluffy block someone who keeps posting rude names, we also keep a short scrambled code made from your internet (IP) address. Your actual IP address isn’t saved with your score. Nobody can read your address from the code, but if Fluffy already knows an address he can check whether it matches, which is how blocking works.
Boards reset on the 1st of every month. The top 3 from each month are kept as past winners, with their scrambled codes. If you report a name, the report keeps the same kind of scrambled code, so one person can’t report the same name over and over.
If Fluffy blocks someone from posting, the block list keeps that scrambled code (plus the last few characters of the address, if he typed one in) until he lifts the block.
Please don’t use your real full name. A nickname is perfect!
Calendar suggestions
When you suggest an event, we keep what you wrote (your name, the event, date, time, place and note), the scrambled code from your internet address and your browser’s random code. The codes limit how many suggestions one person can send (2 waiting or upcoming at a time, 8 a day), let you manage your own suggestions, and let Fluffy block someone who keeps breaking the rules. Fluffy gets an email with your suggestion so he can approve it.
Until he approves it, you can withdraw it yourself. After that, tap “Request to delete” and he’ll take it down. Suggestions stay in the calendar’s records until Fluffy deletes them, so ask any time if you want one removed.
The contact form
What you send (your name, your email address and your message) goes to Fluffy as an email so he can reply. You also get one short automatic email saying it arrived (it never repeats your message). The email also shows your internet (IP) address, which helps him spot spam. Messages are kept in his mailbox on the site’s own mail server, not on the website, until he deletes them.
To limit spam, the website also briefly remembers your internet address in memory, so one person can only send a few messages in a few minutes.
Fluffy’s Map
The map only shows places Fluffy added himself. It never asks for your location. Map pictures come from OpenStreetMap, so your browser asks their servers for the map tiles. Tapping “Directions” opens Google Maps.
If you find a treasure, you can sign its logbook. We keep the nickname and message you type, when you signed, and the same kind of scrambled internet code the scoreboards use (so one person can’t sign twice and Fluffy can block someone who breaks the rules). Your nickname and message are public on that treasure’s page. Signing never asks for your location; if Fluffy set a question, you just type what you found.
Other companies the site uses
The site runs through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks. Like nearly every website, Cloudflare and our own server keep ordinary technical logs (internet address, which page was loaded, browser type) to keep things secure and fix problems. They’re not used to track you.
The fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google’s servers for them. Links to Twitch, YouTube, Discord, the shop or donation pages take you to those sites, and their own privacy rules apply there.
The site’s saved files (scores, calendar and map) are included in the server’s backups.
Kids and parents
This is a family-friendly site and kids are welcome to play. We don’t ask anyone for their age, real name, address or photos, and the games work without sending us anything. The only things a child might send are a nickname with a score, a calendar suggestion or a message through the contact form.
The scrambled internet code described above is used only to stop spam and cheating and to block rule-breakers. It is never used for ads or to build a profile. If we learn a message came from a child under 13, Fluffy replies once if needed and then deletes the message and email address.
Parents and guardians can ask to see or delete anything their child posted, and to stop them posting more. Use the contact form or email [email protected] with the name your child used and roughly when.
How long things are kept
Scores: until the board resets each month; the top 3 stay as past winners. Logbook entries: until Fluffy deletes them or the treasure. Reports and the block list: until Fluffy clears them. Calendar suggestions and contact messages: until Fluffy deletes them, or sooner if you ask. Things saved in your browser: until you clear your browser’s site data.
Keeping things safe
The site uses HTTPS, Fluffy’s control panel is behind a password, and only Fluffy can sign in to the server that stores your information. No website can be perfectly secure, so please don’t send anything you’d be upset to see leaked.
Want something removed?
Ask any time and Fluffy will take it down: a score, a name, a calendar post or a message. Anyone can ask, wherever you live, and you’ll hear back within 30 days.
The site doesn’t track you across other websites, so it treats every visitor the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
Changes to this policy
When this page changes, the date at the bottom changes too. If the site starts keeping something new about you, it will be described here before that feature goes live. Before the shop takes its first order, this page will explain what happens with order, payment and shipping details.
